Intro/New Features
TRUE reintroduces the Project X stick for the 2024 season for the second year since its debut in the goalie world last season. The original Project X was known for its low kick point and extremely low weight, and the 2024 Smoke version returns with that renown and more. Still TRUEs lightest goalie stick to date (555g), it features much of their best tech, including Resflo Technology, Axenic Technology, INVRT, VSS, and BAT.
Flex Point
The Project X Smoke has been designed with INVRT Flex Technology, which optimizes a 4-point flex profile strategically designed to synergize with a goalie’s natural bottom-hand position. By doing so, it maximizes the energy load throughout the stick for shots and passes. This innovation is particularly good for goalies who focus on efficiency and power in their playstyle and when clearing the zone.
Shaft Construction
The Project X Smoke goalie stick shaft has been made softer to complement the stiffer paddle for enhanced playability and puck control. One of its key technological advancements lies in the integration of Resflo Technology, which focuses on rib placement to minimize voids and keep the stick stiff and consistent for as long as possible.
Complementing Resflo is TRUE’s patented Axenic Technology. This unique manufacturing process is instrumental in crafting an ultra-consistent, one-piece design. The absence of fusion points or overlaps in construction leads to a more balanced stick, translating to better control in handling the puck and shooting, as well as an enhanced overall feel during play. The stick also uses a Precision Laminate Design (PLD 2.0) for more focused ply angles, minimizing interlaminar shear for overall stronger laminates in the construction.
The goalie stick variation also includes TRUEs Vibration Suppression System (VSS), engineered to absorb and disperse energy generated from puck impact.
Paddle Construction
The paddles design is a solid combination of balanced and lightweight to further enhance that efficiency and power you want when controlling and handling the puck. The heightened stiffness works with the softer shaft to enhance performance and feel.
Blade Construction/Stiffness
Strategic Rib Technology (SRT) involves the precise placement of ribs throughout the blade, strategically aligned to coincide with typical puck impact points. By doing so, the stick achieves a heightened level of stability upon impact for more accurate and powerful shots. The 2024 iteration sees the SRT-6S technology, where the stick has six strategically placed ribs that extend throughout the paddle into the blade for better handling when passing or clearing the puck.
The Project X Smoke stick features a resillient foam core material within the blade. This addition compacts the laminate, contributing to a maximized strength-to-weight ratio. The result is a blade that both performs consistently and exceeds durability requirements, setting a new standard for longevity and resilience.
Additionally, the goalie stick integrates TRUEs Braided Aramid Tech (BAT), which offers a more efficient weave for a stronger and lighter blade with greater dampening properties.
Graphics
The Project X Smoke stick sees a metal grey coloration with a matte blade and exposed carbon checkering. The goalie variation looks very similar to the player version.
Grip
The stick uses a gloss clear grip, combined with a gloss grip shoulder for optimal control.
Blade Patterns, Paddle Lengths, Stick Lengths, Weight, Level of Play
The Project X Smoke Senior goalie stick is available in paddle lengths 25″, 26″ 27″, in a T31 blade pattern.
