Pierre Turgeon was selected first overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft after recording 154 points in just 58 games with the QMJHLs Granby Bisons. He twice recorded 100 points during his NHL career and finished fifth in league scoring with career bests of 58 goals and 132 points in 1992-93 as a member of the New York Islanders. Named the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy recipient that season, Turgeon went on to participate in four NHL All-Star Games and led his teams in scoring nine times during a 19-year career. He officially retired in 2007 as one of just 30 NHL players to register more than 500 goals and 1,300 career points.
