Intro & New Features
Steal the spotlight. Inspired by the performance formula of its predecessor, the Proto2 features an elite mid-kick construction that will keep goaltenders up at night. This enhanced design allows you to lean into your shot while helping deliver the control you need to fire the puck with precision. Combine that with an upgraded blade that helps you stickhandle in high-danger areas, and youll be public enemy number one on every opponents scouting report.
Stick Flex Profile
The mid-kick point is one of the most versatile flex profiles, positioned in the center of the shaft to optimize energy transfer. This design allows players to generate power from both the lower and upper sections of the stick, making it ideal for all shooting styles, including wrist shots, snap shots, and slap shots.
Shaft Construction
The Proto2 uses Boron fibre, which is the same material previously used in the PROTO-R stick. It is designed to enhance shot power while reducing overall weight of the stick. The stick also features a monocomp one-piece construction, ensuring seamless energy transfer, while the Textreme carbon wrap strengthens the shaft and provides superior impact resistance.
Blade Construction
The blade is constructed using the new Proto2 blade core. This blade construction is designed to be lighter than the predecessor and improve puck feel while still producing the explosive pop that players love and enjoy.
Grip
The Proto2 stick features a soft gloss grip, which is designed to provide a smooth, tactile feel that ensures excellent control while allowing for quick hand adjustments during play.
Blade Patterns, Flex & Stick Length
The Bauer Proto2 Senior Hockey Stick – Black comes in the following blade patterns: P90T, P28, P88, and P92.
P88 is a relatively traditional curve. A popular choice in the past, it excels greatly in stickhandling, quick wrist shots, and controlling snap shots.
P92 is the best blade pattern for all-around play, with a mid-curve style. It is great at handling the puck in small spaces, including face-offs. This curve may suffer a little bit on the backhand.
P28 is a much more aggressive stick pattern, used often by elite players. This blade curve specializes in quick and accurate shots, but it can be a bit difficult to get used to since it is also very good at raising the puck.
P90T is a hybrid of P92 and P28, it has the lie of the P92 and the toe of the P28. Additionally, the curve is a bit taller for more control and power on faceoffs and board battles.
