Intro & New Features
CCM has released the FT870 skate for the recreational level player. Notable features for this Jetspeed skate include a 2D Metaframe construction, HD Microfiber liner, 7mm felt tongue, CCM Ortholite insole, and the Speedblade XS holder with XS1 Steel.
Skate Fit Profile
The FT870 skate uses ADPT Memory Foam, with a denser configuration to create a more snug fit. Both regular and wide fits have been made available for purchase, with half sizes increments starting at 4 and going up to 6.5.
Boot Construction & Stiffness Profile
The boot is constructed with a stiffness rating of 140, a lower rating that allows players to break in their skates more easily and eliminate discomfort quicker. A 2D Metaframe Synthetic Composite construction is used in the boot, adding just the right amount of support while remaining lightweight and durable.
Liner & Internal Padding
An HD Microfiber liner acts as a barrier between the foot and the boot, with an added EVA layer to deliver fit, comfort, and high resistance to wear throughout the whole boot.
Lacing System
The skate continues to use the tried and true standard eyelet and lace system.
Tongue
The tongue in the FT870 skate has been optimized for lace-bite prevention and player comfort with a 7mm felt tongue. A dual-layer construction is used, with injected protection to enhance overall feel.
Steel/Runner/Profile/Blade Holder
CCM has equipped the FT870 skate with the Step XS1 runner. This steel adds 4mm in height over a standard runner to increase longevity, while the stainless steel construction contributes to longer-lasting edges for overall performance.
The Speedblade XS Holder comes stock in the FT870 skate. This quick-release holder and metal pin blade lock system have been designed for ease of use for replacing steel when needed.
Insoles
A traditional CCM Ortholite insole is included with the FT870 to provide ultra-lightweight comfort during use.
Graphics
The FT870 skate closely resembles the elite level graphics seen in the release of the new Jetspeed line, with red and black colouring seen throughout the skate. A fluid design finds its place on the skate with red meeting black and grey on the quarter package, and a dark silver CCM logo on the side and heel of the skate.
