Intro & New Features
CCM has released the FT890 skate for the performance level player. Notable features for this Jetspeed skate include a One-Piece boot, RFM composite construction, TotalDri Pro liner, ADPT Memory Foam, 5mm felt tongue, Ortholite insole, and the Speedblade XS holder with Step Steel.
Skate Fit Profile
The FT890 skate puts focus on player comfort with ADPT Memory Foam and Seamless Comfort to cradle the foot and create a secure connection. The foams have been aligned in a way to lock the foot in a natural position, which helps reduce fatigue that may accumulate over time. The regular width is standard in this skate, with half sizes increments starting at 1 and going up to 3.5 in the junior size offering.
Boot Construction & Stiffness Profile
The boot is constructed using a molded RFM Composite, which is an NHL-caliber material made to withstand intense play. RFM excels at reducing weight in the skate without sacrificing durability.
Liner & Internal Padding
A TotalDri Pro liner is found in the FT890 skate, which works to wick moisture away and keep feet comfortable and dry during play.
Lacing System
The skate continues to use the tried and true standard eyelet and lace system. Tongue The FT890 comes with a dual-layer 5mm felt tongue with injected lace bite protection.
Steel/Runner/Profile/Blade Holder
CCM has equipped the FT890 skate with the XS1 Pro Stainless Steel runner. This steel is an extra 4mm in height over a standard runner to add longevity and provides a better attack angle.
The Speedblade XS Holder comes stock in the FT890 skate. This quick-release holder and metal pin blade lock system have been designed for ease of use for replacing steel when needed.
Insoles
A molded CCM Ortholite insole is included with the FT890 to provide ultra-lightweight comfort during use. Graphics The FT890 skate closely resembles the elite level graphics seen in the release of the new Jetspeed line, with red and black colouring seen throughout the skate. A fluid design finds its place on the skate with red meeting black on the quarter package, and a dark silver CCM logo on the side and heel of the skate.
